Washi Tape Decorative Tape

Treat decorative use and carton sealing as separate requirements. Define whether it decorates tissue, closes a light sleeve or carries shipping loads, then sample the appropriate adhesive and backing. Do not rely on the washi name as evidence of parcel closure strength.

Removal depends on the chosen adhesive, surface and time in contact. Test it on the exact tissue, ink and coating, including a realistic storage period. Check tearing, lifted print and residue before approving it for a reveal that depends on clean peeling.

Review a printed sample on the intended background, because the appearance of a thin paper backing can change over colored tissue or print. Compare the complete wrapped presentation under ordinary light before finalizing fine type, light colors or subtle repeating motifs.

Specify the usable width, core and unwind direction alongside the artwork repeat. Have packers trial hand tearing or the selected cutter on the actual presentation. Check that the visible motif fits the applied strip without requiring excessive trimming for every package.
