How do we choose the hangtag hole and tie position?

Provide the product attachment point, intended tag orientation and chosen string or ribbon. Trial the complete attachment on a real item and check whether the tag rotates, hangs over key product details or puts the hole too close to an edge.

Will a small hangtag still scan at checkout?

Reserve a flat barcode panel away from the punched hole, tie and decorative borders. Confirm your retailer's required barcode format and verify a printed, attached sample. Do not reduce the symbol just to fit more brand copy around it.

How do we prevent the tie from tearing the tag?

The hole location, remaining board around it and attachment tension should be reviewed together. Send the intended tying method and product weight for sampling; pull and handle the attached tag to reveal edge tearing before selecting heavier stock or a revised shape.

Can both sides of a hangtag carry important information?

They can, but identify which side naturally faces the shopper after tying. Use a physical mockup to check that price, size or care information remains easy to find and that the string does not obscure a code or short instruction.
